Welcome to Aloha Youth Soccer

Please join us for a fun filled season of soccer in Fall 2009. We are looking for players beginning kindergarten through 8th grade, who want to learn and improve in the game of soccer and be part of a team. Absolutely no experience is required. Last year we had 125 teams playing soccer in the Beaverton area. Many thanks for the outstanding job done by our volunteer coaches.

Practices begin in August. Depending on the age group, practices are usually one to two times per week. With many families taking vacation during August, it is understood that some practices will be missed. The games begin in September.

Kindergartners and First Graders play in the Micro-Soccer program. They play on small fields with three players per side. The emphasis is on fun and introductory skills development. Eight games are played on Saturday mornings with other AYSC teams at Beaver Acres Elementary School.

U8 – U14 (2nd-8th grade) teams play teams from other clubs in the Beaverton-Aloha area. U8 and U9 (2nd and 3rd grade) teams play "small sided games" ("4 v 4" and "6 v 6" respectively), U10-U11 (4th -5th graders) play "8 v 8" and U12 through U14 (6th through 8th graders) play on full-sized fields, eleven players on a side. Games are played on Saturday mornings and early afternoons. The season is played during September and October and extends into November for the older age groups.

Registration Tips

To ensure that your child has a place on a team for this spring season register as soon as possible. Late registrations will only be accepted if space is available. As a recreational club, we build teams primarily based on school attendance areas. We are required to collect THPRD Rec ID #’s. (Tualatin Hills Park and Recreation District). If you don't have one please contact them directly to acquire one.

If you register online you may include a request for a coach and up to 2 team members. No requests are taken for paper registration. There is NO GUARANTEE ON TEAM PLACEMENTS as teams are formed by when registration are received.

Financial Aid is available. Please send a note to treasurer or Registrar if you require assistance.

President's Letter

Welcome to the Aloha Youth Soccer Club!  Our Club has over 1,500 kids playing soccer with over 200 volunteer coaches. We are one of the 10 largest clubs in Oregon, and we are completely run by dedicated volunteers.

We are a member of U.S. Youth Soccer; the national organization that oversees our branch of the soccer community.  Our state organization is OYSA (Oregon Youth Soccer Association).  It provides local support for registration, coaching education and publishes the Goal Lines magazine.  We play in THJSL (Tualatin Hills Junior Soccer League).  The league is a group of clubs in the Beaverton school district that cooperate to provide a local league.

We have several new board members and we have been working hard through the winter preparing for the upcoming Fall season. We all realize these are challenging times for many of our members, and we are looking at many ways to help keep costs down, but to add to and improve the club.  Here is a small list of what we have been working on:

  1. New adidas uniforms for U8 through U14
  2. A new process for picking up your uniform.
  3. Continue our  sponsorship agreement with  Land O Frost for our younger teams.
  4. We have added corporate sponsorships and partnerships with adidas, Tursi’s, and Associated Business products, and we are actively pursuing more.
  5. We are creating action committees to focus on fields, fundraising, player development and coach development.  (These committees are a great way to participate in the future of AYSC, without the commitment of a board position).
  6. The board is working on setting up a TopSoccer program for children with disabilities.
  7. Our competitive side of the club, Aloha United is growing and expanding.

My goal for AYSC to continue to grow and improve the club. I also, want to provide a safe, and fun environment for my children and your children to learn the beautiful game of soccer.

Thank you for your support, for your patience, and being a part of a great community.

I hope to see you all on the fields this year.

Brian Bauman, President AYSC

News

All of Aloha Youth Soccer Club would like to say THANK YOU to the all those who donated money either via online or who made donations through matching funds from the companies they work for. We would like to thank our major sponsor Land O' Frost for their sponsorship for 2008 and continuing in 2009/2010. All those who work at Nike and Verizon for your continued support of AYSC through your volunteer hours. Thank you to all those who sponsored through our online registration. Through these donations we are able to have scholarships available to help kids play the game who wouldn’t otherwise be able to play.

A special Thank You to all those who volunteer their time to coach our kids and to make a difference in the lives of children.

Calling All Kindergarten Athletes

Please help us find kindergartners. We distribute information to the schools and email returning players, but this doesn’t include those who are ready to begin Kindergarten. This is the hardest group of potential soccer players for us to find and we end up excluding some of them. Send  a note to the Registrar with the name and address of the potential player. We will send them registration information. Of course, include any age player that may be new to the area and not know about Aloha Youth Soccer.

Mail-in Registration Form

If you need to mail in your registration, you may download the form in Adobe® PDF format here: Registration Form.

To read and print Adobe PDF, you'll need the Adobe® Reader® software available as a free download from Adobe Systems.

Players' Equipment

All players must wear shin guards—covered by socks-and soccer shoes to both games and practices (no baseball shoes or shoes with cleats in the toe) and they will need a soccer ball for practices. Your child will need a soccer ball size 3 for Micro's and U8's. Size 4 for U9-U12 and size 5 for U13 and U14.

Please do not get your ears pierced before the season. No jewelry or earrings are allowed and you will have to remove your earrings. No casts of any kind allowed.

UK International Soccer Camps

Want a great experience for a week of soccer fun? Try out a week of UK International Soccer Camps. We will be offering 2 different weeks this summer for you to have a great soccer experience. July 6-10, August 3-7 and August 17-21. Go to http://www.uksocca.com/ to register for your week.

REFEREES NEEDED

We need more referees! To achieve this goal, we participate in the League-wide referee development program. Adults and youths (9th grade and older) are encouraged to enter the program. New youth referees who pass the exam will have the cost of the class and first year USSF registration paid for by the league. They also are paid for the games they referee and may qualify for other reimbursements. If you’re interested in taking a referee class, please contact Tualatin Hills Junior Soccer League at http://www.thjsl.org/.
